Sweet Summer.

I spent yesterday afternoon with my amazing friend Molly and we decided to have a quick shoot. I've been craving to use my camera for a long time, but everyone keeps canceling their senior shoots, and I haven't been able to wrap my head around any outdoor shoots in this frightening heat. (I'm planning a concept series based on women in greek mythology--only modern!) I've been trying to research different photographers, (I'm currently obsessed with Tim Walker, but what else is new?) and doing research for my upcoming website. Its going to be a portfolio of sorts for my work. I'm also going to start keeping inspiration journals. I got the idea from an interview with Walker, where he said he keeps stacks of ongoing journals pasted full of photos, articles, fabrics, etc that inspire him and get his imagination flowing. Yum!
On a more personal topic, summer. School will resume in a few weeks, after I go to Chicago (!!!) for a week with my family, and squeeze in as much fun and creativity into this small time as I possibly can. I took my driver's test today and unfortunately failed, oops! But I also got my braces off! Hello, beautiful teeth!
Anyways. I hope you're all enjoying your summers. I had an absolutely spectacular Sweet 16, thank you for all of the birthday wishes. Muah! I love you all so much. My very favorite people came together to dance and eat cake, and we even had little centerpieces with the tiniest goldfish swimming about. It was just lovely. I'm off to a movie night and sleepover with my adorable cousin, I wish you all a happy Wednesday, wherever you are in the world!
xoxo,
Maddie.
P.S. Please excuse the cut off photos to the side. I'm having the worst time trying to find the right size--medium is too small and large is too big, eek! So click the image to see the full sized photo. Thanks!

Don't worry Sprinkle; I failed my first test too ;) For a really stupid reason! But they were kind and let me retake it the next day, and now I've had an international license for a year. I'm afraid to drive in America because I have all sorts if aggressive, probably illegal habits from Arab driving ;)
